As a result of not being a good barrista, if you will, I never really developed a big taste for coffee. I've always been a tea drinker. Until now....
We recently purchased a Keurig
You fill the reservoir with water, the machine heats it up, and in one minute you have fresh brewed, great tasting coffee! And it is so easy to use! You just throw in whatever flavor K-cup
There are so many different flavors and brands to choose from, and the thing I like the most is that you don't have to brew a whole pot at a time! In our house, my husband and I have different tastes - he likes classic unflavored coffee; I, on the other hand, love the flavored kind. Pumpkin Spice, Hazelnut, French Vanilla, Butter Toffee... the selection goes on and on!
Not only that, in addition to all the coffee flavors, there is also
K-cup cocoa
But you don't have to use a K-cup to brew the perfect cup of coffee or tea. If it's tea you prefer, just drop a teabag into your mug and press the brew button. In one minute, the perfect temperature hot water will start filling your cup! Poof! You just made a great cup of tea! If you're a die-hard Folgers or Maxwell House (etc.) fan, then all you need is a "My K-cup" insert and you can still use your favorite ground coffee! Another thing we use our Keurig for is to make instant oatmeal! Again, just press the brew button (without a K-cup in the machine) and hold your bowl under the stream of hot water. One minute later, you have a healthy and filling breakfast!
I am so glad we decided to give the Keurig a whirl. The machine has paid for itself ten-fold. And, yes... the boxes of K-cups may seem pricey, but if you shop around you can find great deals. It's still not as expensive as heading to your favorite corner coffee shop every day! Most K-cups can be had at less than or around $1.00 a cup.
Now that he doesn't have to waste a "pot" of coffee, my husband loves to enjoy an after dinner cuppa, and for me - there is nothing better than a nice hot cup of tea (or a great flavored cup of coffee) while I'm surfing the web, or more importantly...devouring the latest addition to my completely out of control book collection!
Is there anybody else out there that loves to have a cup of coffee or tea while relaxing with a book, or posting to your blog? It's become a staple to have that mug within reach when I'm doing either one of these things.
And, finally.... do you prefer flavored coffee or tea, or do you like the old stand-by classic?
