How Do You Acquire Your Books?

So, I see so many people who do "memes" on their blogs.  I love to read them.  The one that intrigues me the most is the "Mailbox" ones.  You know, "Mailbox Monday", "In My Mailbox", etc., etc.  For anyone who doesn't know, it's a post about all the books you've gotten in the mail that week, or bought, or whatever.  I love seeing the goodies everyone got!

Here's my question:  where are all these "mailboxers" getting their loot?!?!  Aside from the library.  Do you order them online?  Go to a bookstore every week?
Don't get me wrong - I love, love, love getting new books!  If I had the money, I would be going to a bookstore every week.  Although, I would spend way too much!!  That's why I don't go to the bookstore every week.  :(

I do buy many of my books online; I love perusing Amazon.  I also do some online trading and swapping sites.  Of course, in the spring and summer there's nothing like a good yard sale or flea market to scour for a good book or two.  But those are all used books (not that there's anything wrong with that!  I love used books!)  Very rarely do I buy new books, except for Amazon because they have a terrific 4-for-3, and of course the free shipping.

So, in this day and age, how do you afford to buy new books?  Do you cut back in other areas so you can buy books?  Like, not buy new clothes or make-up so you can get books?  Save your allowance (if you're a teen)?   Not eat out as often?  Maybe you have a way of cutting back that someone else hasn't thought of?  Why not share it here?

Do you get new copies from publishers for reviewing purposes?  I would love to review new or upcoming releases but wouldn't know how to go about it.  That's why when I do a review, it's probably an older (or atleast not a new release) title.  How do you let publishers, authors know you'd like to review their book?

I can't wait to see the different ways you save in other areas to be able to afford a good fix to this addiction!
