You can customize it to your family's tastes.... different seasonings, different veggies, etc... experiment!
Crock-Pot Chicken & Rice
6 - 8 bone-in chicken pieces - drumsticks or thighs, skin removed (you can use breasts, too. I am partial to drumsticks.)
1 can condensed cream of chicken soup (10 3/4 oz. size)
1 can condensed chicken with rice soup (10 3/4 oz. size)
Handful (or more) baby carrots
Handful ( or more) chopped onions OR frozen small pearl onions
Salt & Pepper to taste
Place chicken pieces in pot. Top with carrots and onions. In a small bowl, whisk together soups. Add salt & pepper to taste. Pour over chicken.
Cook on low for about 6 hours - until chicken juices run clear.
Serve over a hot bed of rice. Spoon gravy over top.
There are so many possibilities with this recipe. I cook off two bags of Success Rice and serve over that. You can use different spices - try a pinch of rosemary, or add a clove of garlic. This is hearty and satisfying... and wait till you come in the house and smell it cooking! :) ENJOY!!
*****in addition to Tasty Tuesdays here on "A Cup of Tea...", I have decided to start a crock-pot blog. It will feature **mostly** slow cooker recipes that are easy & tasty, but will occasionally have something different - i.e. desserts and such.
I plan on starting it next week. I'll keep you posted.... maybe you'd like to check it out and follow me there, also!
