The past few years, I haven't been a big fan of tv. For awhile now, it's seemed like there is nothing on! I mean, we have 350 channels to flip through, and there is nothing on!
But lately, I feel like I cannot get enough of tv! I do not like the reality shows (who decided what is "reality" anyway?). I absolutely love the Sleuth channel. The shows they have on are right up my alley. It's no secret that I'm a huge mystery lover. So with shows like Monk and Psych, I find myself checking the Sleuth channel maybe a little too often.
For those who don't know, Monk is an obsessive-compulsive detective played by Tony Shaloub, and Psych is about a young guy and his friend who form a detective agency under the ruse of being psychic. True, they may not be 100% realistic, but I do find them entertaining. I wish there were more shows on like this, and not so much reality, or dancing/talent/singing shows. These remind me of the shows that I used to watch with my Grandma. Shows like Diagnosis Murder, and Murder, She Wrote. We were also big fans of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. Let's not forget The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, and Dallas.
There are a few reality type shows that I do enjoy, but I don't know if they'd be classified as "reality". The antiques shows are a personal favorite. I love Antiques Roadshow, American Pickers, and a newer one on HGTV called Cash and Carri. It's fun to see the vintage stuff they find, and to see how much the antiques go for. I love everything old.
How do you feel about tv these days? Are there certain shows or types of shows you are drawn to?
